A Guide to Ordering your Stationery

Timescales for ordering your stationery

It’s useful for you to know when you should be ordering your stationery, so you can be prepared in advance.
Here is a rough guideline of timings to help you set some dates.

Save the Dates
9-12 months before

These can be sent as early as you like. Often the earlier the better, as soon as you set a date. It gives your guests as much notice as possible.

If you’d like bespoke stationery then it’s best to get in touch as soon as possible to get idea’s together. Bespoke designs are tailored to you so can take longer to create.

Wedding Invitations
3-6 months before

If you’re not sending Save the Dates, these should be sent as early as possible. They should allow enough time for guests to RSVP (plus extra!) and know numbers for the day.

On the Day
Stationery & Signage

Some of these pieces you can only get designed following your RSVP responses, so it’s best to give your guests a response deadline of at least 6 weeks before the big day.

Allow a minimum of 4 weeks for design, production and delivery, but speak to your stationer at least a few weeks before to get the ball rolling.

The Process

A little guide to creating your bespoke wedding stationery from start to finish.

1
Contact

Get in touch with me to start your stationery process, let me know your wedding date and when you would like to get your save the dates and invitations out to your guests.

2
Ideas

Before I begin designing your stationery, I require any styles, Pinterest boards or ideas from you. We’ll discuss wording, colour palettes and anything to make your wedding stationery uniquely yours.

3
Moodboards

Once we have all the inspiration and info we need, I’ll create mood boards and styles for you to get an idea of designs.

4
Quote

Along with the mood boards, I will send you a quote with a time slot and prices. This all depends on paper and materials, and time costs.

5
Design

When we have decided on a scheme, I’ll create your stationery. You will be sent visual mock ups of what your suite will look like and any refinements can be made.

6
Proofs

Once the design is perfected, I’ll send you online PDF proofs for you to check over thoroughly and approve. The cost’s of the wedding stationery is then required before printing.

7
Production

We go to press! Depending on quantity, I have trusted suppliers who will get this printed. I will then put together each suite by hand in my studio.

8
Delivery

Your stationery will be beautifully packaged and delivered.

Pricing

I don’t have a set price list - that’s because every stationery is so individual, from quantities to types of paper. I would love to hear from you to talk through what you may have in mind, and I can give you a full breakdown of costs and prices for any extra’s too.

If you are ordering from a collection, I really recommend buying a sample first. This will give you an idea of what the quality and feel is like. If you’re going bespoke, ordering a sample from one of the collections with similar colours may also help you. Each sample comes with a guide to ordering with paper and foil samples.
